This is where I live
the most liberal part
of the most liberal part
of America,
the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is not the America you see
on the Simpsons
or even Married with Children.

When I am overseas,
it never ceases to amaze me
that people believe
that they know America,
from watching COPS and JERRY SPRINGER.

If that were true,
I would know everything about England
from watching MONTY PYTHON
and CORONATION STREET.
All about France from
Truffaut and Goddard,
and all about Germany from
HOGAN'S HEROES.

It is to laugh.

Gearhead USA
is life in America
as I experience it.
